This month has been CRAZY! I have been traveling non-stop and I love every second of it. Well, I don't like the long drives or flights, but I love it once I'm there. Anywayyy, Scotty and I were talking on our drive home from Vermont the other day (post on that trip coming soon!) and we realized that we have been away EVERY WEEKEND this month!! That's wild!
We have seen and done so much in a short amount of time and loved every second of it. From city trips with friends, to exploring Ontario together, to jet skiing at the lake, we have had a great month. That being said, we're both wiped out. My body has been feeling more sluggish and I know it's from going non-stop. I'm grateful for this upcoming weekend because I can finally RELAX!
Well...I think it's safe to say that this year has been one of the most stressful for me. My full time (teaching) job was chaotic and stressful and I felt that I couldn't give or get 100% from myself or my students.
Needless to say, when summer vacay rolled around, I was dancing out the door! (Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but I needed a BREAK). However, I was slammed with graduation parties, weddings, and travel plans. I was exhausted and stressed. And yet here I was, on vacation! After feeling like I hit a speed bump going 100mph, I decided (or life decided for me) that I needed to take a mental break. I need to breathe and relax. I needed to find balance within myself.
Hey sassy babes!! I apologize for being M.I.A but I've been super busy!! But, I am sooo excited to share today's post with you!! This past month I have been taking extra good care/of myself by taking vitamins. I know, how adult of me! Movingg on. I had heard excellent things about the company Care/of and decided to give it a try. Why not right? What's the worst that could happen? I become a bit healthier?? Anyway, I went to Care/of's site and got started immediately, taking their quick assessment on my lifestyle and needs. Based on my answers, I was then recommended specific vitamins. Pretty easy. (I must admit, I took the quiz a few times LOL)
March 2nd and a Nor'easter!! Who would have thought?? My closet and I were all ready to start switching out the winter wardrobe for spring...but Mother Nature had other ideas. Today's post is going to be a little on the deep side but I felt that I needed to share. Like many of you, I suffer from anxiety and SAD - seasonal affective disorder. (You can laugh...Seasonal disorder sounds funny). Who lets the seasons affect them?? But, it's a real disorder that affects so many people, and it is beyond their control.
Good evening my sassy babes I am so excited to share tonight's post with you! It's a long one, so grab a drink and enjoy!! This weekend my mom and I took a much needed girls day of shopping. We drove to the Garden State Mall in Jersey and moments after we got there, we got a hint of the most calming aromas. What is that? We were immediately drawn into the store with the powerful scent.
Now that we are all pretty much settled into the New Year, and comfortable with our 2018 goals, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite fitness and healthy favorites! These are all things I use daily and truly love for me, so why not share them!?
As we know many of us look at January as a way to set goals for ourselves, many of them fitness and health related. If you've been reading my blog, or scrolling through my Instagram, than you know fitness is a huge part of my life. I try to workout 5-6 days a week for so many reasons! It reduces my stress, helps me sleep better and it makes me feel good. That being said, I still slack. BIG time. I can slip out of shape so quickly...it can happen within days! We've all been there...we lose motivation to go to the gym and tell ourselves, "I'll go tomorrow." But tomorrow comes and we find a million other things that we have to do other than go to the gym. It then becomes a pattern of tomorrow.
2018 is all about being healthy and making better choices when it comes to my nutrition. I've always been known as a picky eater, and struggling with body issues didn't making eating any easier. I wasn't that educated in nutrition, I hated most vegetables, but I loved sugar. I ate pretty crappy, even for a collegiate athlete. Even though I knew what I needed to eat to fuel my body, I struggled. My palette was basic and I lived off the same few foods. It was rough. I wasn't fat by any means, but I was "skinny-fat". I was working out and lifting and not giving my body the proper nutrients I needed. My body was strong but not lean or toned. My skin was a disaster, and I looked bloated...constantly.
It is officially January. Which means in New York, it is COLD! And I mean, frigid. Negative degree temperatures and wind chills that go right through you and hit you at the core. But, January also means a fresh start and new beginnings. This is the time where you can reflect on 2017 and ask yourself what went well, what didn't, and where you want 2018 to take you.
